Bench height

In the maintenance shop, a setting is done measuring height of cut from a hard, level surface to the cutting edge. This is called "bench set" height of cut.

Although the mower is not set on a hard level surface, the bench setting is being done with a measuring gauge using the front roller and bedknife as a reference.
